Arbroath vs Dundee United – Match Preview / How to Watch
cinch Scottish Championship – Game 1 – Season 2023/2024
Friday 4th August 2023, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 7:45pm kick off
The 2023/2024 cinch Championship season kicks off this evening, and it couldn’t be a bigger game with Dundee United visiting Gayfield!
With a sold-out away end, and over 1100 season tickets sold already for the Lichties, it looks like this will be another game which will surpass the 5000 mark again.
Both sides have went through major surgery over the summer with Dundee United Head Coach Jim Goodwin bringing in 7 new players with 15 departing Tannadice.
At Gayfield, Manager Dick Campbell has brought in 9 new players with 11 departing. Arbroath still are without Colin Hamilton, but it is hoped that Captain Thomas O’Brien will be fit and return to the starting line-up after missing the past two ViaPlay Cup fixtures.
Arbroath are hit with 3 players out due to suspensions carried on from last season. Goalkeeper Ali Adams, Mark Stowe and Jess Norey all sit out this evening as they serve a one-match ban.
Dundee keeper Thomas Welsh joins on an emergency 7-day loan to cover Ali’s suspension.
With the BBC Cameras in attendance, we are sure all of Scottish Football will be tuned in for this cracking opening fixture, so we hope you will make some noise and cheer on the Lichties!
