Welcome Sean Adarkwa

Arbroath FC are delighted to welcome 22-year-old striker Sean Adarkwa to the club.

Sean, who was born in East London began playing football at the age of 8 for Cobra FC, in Dagenham, before winning a trial with West Ham at age 11 where he came through the ranks.

He forced his way in to the West Ham U23 side at just 18, whilst still a second year scholar making 10 Premier League 2 appearances and scored against Manchester City and Swansea City.

With the West Ham website describing Sean as a “physical centre forward who is able to hold the ball up to bring his teammates into play, is strong in the air and also has an eye for a goal – similar to his mentor Cole.”

He was rewarded with a new deal at the Hammers and worked under coach Carlton Cole and at the age of 20 had scored 10 goals for the Club’s Under 18’s and 23’s in 61 games.

As his contract was close to running out with West Ham, Queen’s Park Rangers offered Sean a trial in which he did enough to impress and win a contract.

Unfortunately just after signing for Queen’s Park Rangers, Sean suffered a back injury which kept him out for just under 10 months, but returned to action in late Autumn before moving to National League side Maidstone United on a month’s loan to get some match fitness.

Sean has signed until the end of the season and will wear the number 24 shirt.

Welcome to the club Sean!
