Welcome Jess Norey
Arbroath FC are delighted to sign 21-year-old attacking midfielder Jess Norey on an one-year-deal subject to international clearance.
Jess recently played as a trialist for Arbroath and starred in midfield against Brechin City and then against Stirling Albion.
Jess attended Barking Abbey school for their football programme, where he won student athlete of the year. Multiple Universities from the USA approached Jess but he wanted to stay and develop as a player in the UK.
His previous club was Barking FC, who play in Step 4 (Isthmian League North) where he continued his development.
He was initially invited to try out for Barking FC U23’s but due to his talent was quickly promoted to Barking FC’s first team.
One of the first names on the team sheet last season, Jess was voted Players Player, Supporters Player and Managers player of the season.
Jess said; “I’m delighted to join Arbroath and I’ll give everything I’ve got every time I step on the pitch. I’m a well-rounded player and I can play in any position centrally – number 6, number 8 or number 10.
I can handle the ball well, pass it but I can also do the dirty work. I can get in your face to win it back. I’ve got loads of different bits to my game but most of all I try to do the simple things well like winning the ball back and moving it on with one or two touches.”
Arbroath FC would like to thank Barking FC for all their assistance in helping Jess move to Arbroath FC and we wish them all the very best for the season ahead.
We would like to give Jess a very warm welcome to Scotland and to Arbroath and look forward to seeing him in action!
Welcome to the Club!
