Welcome Darren Lyon
Arbroath FC are delighted to announce the signing of 28-year-old midfielder Darren Lyon on a contract until the end of the season.
Darren started his footballing career at Rangers and was part of their Youth team before moving to Hamilton Academical where he joined their U17 side before progressing to their U20 side before signing for the first team.
Darren would make 73 first team appearances for the Accies. He was part of the team that won promotion into the Premiership and Darren would go on to make over 50 appearances in Scotland’s top flight.
A move to English League One side Peterborough United followed with Darren wanting to develop as a player.
Darren returned to Scotland in August 2019 signing for Queen of the South and played against the Lichties 3 times before the season was cut short by the Pandemic.
A move from Palmerston to Hampden followed as Darren signed for Queen’s Park where he would play for 2 seasons before signing for Kelty Hearts last season.
With experience of the Scottish Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two as well as the English League One, Darren brings a wealth of experience and a versatility to operate in midfield as well as having previously filled in at right back.
