The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy is another new trophy at Gayfield this season.
Like Geordie, Angus was a lifelong supporter of the Lichties and died last year aged 82.
A memorial trophy was donated by his family and friends last year, to Arbroath Football Club, for the “Best newcomer of the year”
It was Blair Yule who was the winner of this new trophy for his impressive debut season at Gayfield and from making the leap from the Highland League to League one.
Angus’s widow Zena, and their daughter Audrey presented Blair with his trophy before kick off on Saturday.
These two trophies epitomise the strong two – way community relationships between loyal supporters and the Club, where families and the Club can come together, to celebrate and commemorate, the “Lichties Legacy” and their part in that commemoration.
