Thank you Jack Hamilton
Everyone at Arbroath FC would like to thank Striker Jack Hamilton and his parent club Livingston FC for Jack’s loan spell at Gayfield which has now come to an end.
Jack signed for the Lichties on January 29th 2021 and will go down as having one of the best games to goal ratios for any Arbroath striker netting 8 goals in 14 games
Jack scored the winner on his debut against Greenock Morton and then followed it up with goals against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Alloa Athletic, Queen of the South, Alloa Athletic, Raith Rovers, Ayr United and Dunfermline Athletic and played a major part in Arbroath’s survival in the Championship.
Having scored 9 (7 in the league) goals for East Fife in League One, a Premiership goal for Parent Club Livingston and then 8 in the Championship for Arbroath, it means Jack has an incredible 18 goals in all competitions for the season putting him as one of the top scorers in Scottish Football this season.
Jack’s physical strength and as playing as the number 9 meant that Jack was constantly getting the attention of the league’s defenders but Jack kept on fighting and was duly rewarded by always being in the right position at the right time with his natural goalscoring ability.
Jack fitted into the team seamlessly and we all know that Jack is set for a huge future in the game and we will all be looking out for his results next season where he will hopefully be leading the line for Livingston.
Jack also won The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy (Best Newcomer of the year) Voted by the Board of Directors in the end of season awards.
The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy is a trophy in the memory of lifelong Lichtie Angus Nairn who sadly passed away a few years ago.
The memorial trophy was donated by his family and is awarded to the best newcomer of the year, and is voted by the Arbroath FC Board of Directors.
Previous winners include Miko Virtanen, Blair Yule and Jason Thomson, and we are delighted that Jack Hamilton was named the 2020/2021 winner.
We know that our fans would have loved seeing Jack play and score the goals.
We would like to thank Jack for his time spent at Gayfield and wish him all the very best for next season.
Thank you Jack!
C’mon the Lichties
