Stranraer 2 – 6 Arbroath

SPFL League 1 - Game - 07 - Stranraer 2 - 6 Arbroath

An incredible afternoon in Stranraer as the Lichties ran riot scoring 6 times! Thomas O’Brien opened the scoring with a long range header as he took advantage of a poor punch clear from keeper Cameron Belford before Danny Denholm scored his first goal of the game after being fed in by Bobby Linn.

Ryan Thomson pulled one back for the home side as he snuck in between the Arbroath defence. Omar Kader looked to have added a third for the Lichties but his effort was ruled offside however Ryan McCord netted his first goal of the game seconds after Stranraer had hit both Arbroath’s posts.

Danny Denholm scored the goal of the game as he cut in from the wing before smashing the ball high into the net in the 41st minute to make it 4-1 at half time.

Ryan McCord took only a few minutes to net his second from a tight angle at the start of the second half.

Scott Agnew pulled one back for the Blues but Ryan McCord netted his hat trick from the penalty spot after Colin Hamilton was bundled over.

In truth the Lichties could have scored another 4 in a brilliant performance making it 19 away league games undefeated.

A special thank you to the small group of supporters who made the long trip south!

C’mon the Lichties!!!
