The Lichties had to settle for a valuable point on Saturday afternoon down at Stranraer as they kept their 13 point lead at the top of Ladbrokes League One.
The Lichties started well and seemed in control with Bobby Linn hitting the post and also being denied by a fantastic save by Max Currie.
However Stranraer were dangerous on the counter attack and 18 year old Innes Cameron impressed and Grant Anderson was wasteful of a glorious chance.
Just on the stroke of halftime Michael McKenna and Max Currie came together with Currie receiving a straight red card as both players went head to head as Currie seemed to catch McKenna who also was booked.
Lyle Avci came on for Joao Victoria just before the first hand ended.
The second half started and the Lichties started to press but with Stranraer playing two banks of 4 it was harder for the Lichties to break past the defence.
David Gold twice twisted and turned as he ran into the box but he couldn’t get space to pull the trigger.
As Arbroath attacked Stranraer were happy to counter and Darren Jamieson again pulled off two stunning saves to keep his side in it.
Substitute Ryan Wallace had a shot just fly by the post in injury time before Stranraer were again denied by Jamieson.
Another point with now just 18 points remaining and the Lichties 13 ahead.
