HT – Stenhousemuir 1 – 2 Arbroath
It was pretty much all one way traffic in the second half with Jason Thomson seemingly scoring a 3rd goal as his shot bounced off the cross bar, down over the line and back out. It it wasn’t given however Ryan Wallace scores just seconds later to make it 3-1 after 52 .
Bobby wasn’t to be outdone and scored directly from a corner kick in the 58th minute. Paul Sheerin who was in attendance scored a similar goal at Gayfield a few years ago!
The Lichties kept pressing for a 5th with Gavin Swankie in stunning form in midfield.
Arbroath made a Triple change; David Gold, Danny Denholm and Luke Donnelly came off and Ryan McCord, Omar Kader and Michael McKenna all coming on.
There was lots of lovely build up play but the 5th goal just wouldn’t come.
A great team performance from everyone involved.
News came in after the full time whistle that Airdrieonians and Raith Rovers shared the points meaning there is now a 13 point lead at the top of the league again.
C’mon the Lichties!
