Sheffield to Arbroath
Hopefully most Lichties have managed to see the interview from BBC Sport Scotland journalist Kenny Crawford yesterday which we shared on our page. If not, you can watch below;
We welcomed 10-year-old Harri Parker to Gayfield. Harri with Jeni and Grant left Sheffield at 7am to drive the 330 / 340 miles up to Arbroath having a quick stop off for some food at the Borders.
Harri is a huge Sheffield United supporter but the English Premiership doesn’t start until next weekend and so Harri chose Arbroath because it was next to the sea-side.
Harri was born with only half a heart which has meant the he has battled through countless surgeries and shown incredible determination and fight, yet Harri doesn’t let his condition affect his outlook on life and earlier this year Harri raised money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund so that the children in Hospital could get easter eggs and give them the best possible easter possible.
We had a quick word with Harri who got to sit in the Arbroath dugout and he commented that the “ball is in the air a lot more than in England” which is the perfect observation of Scottish Football!
We hope Harri, Jeni and Grant all enjoyed their day at Gayfield yesterday and enjoyed their evening staying out near Lunan Bay.
We do want to know if they managed to try a Smokie!
All the very best Harri and his beloved Sheffield United for the season and we hope Harri, Jeni and Grant will make it back to Arbroath in the future!
Thanks for the visit!
