Arbroath FC are delighted to announce that versatile and dynamic midfielder, Scott Stewart has pledged his future to the Club and signed a new 2-year contract extension.
Scott has been an influential player for Arbroath for a number of years, none more-so than the current season, where he has played in numerous positions when required throughout the campaign.
When discussing his new contract, Scott said; “It’s great to sign an extension to my contract and commit to at least another two years here at Arbroath. I love the club, the people round the club and most importantly our loyal supporters. Having been here since 2019, experiencing the highs of the 2021-22 season, I’m desperate to help the Club get back to The Championship next season. It’s been a difficult year for everyone as we know, but we’re all committed to bouncing back at the first time of asking. The fans were a major part in my decision to stay on at the club, the support they’ve given myself and the lads has been amazing and it’s time for us to get the heads down as players and staff to repay them to get back to where we believe we belong.”
Manager, Jim McIntyre said; “Scotty has been instrumental in the team this season, I don’t think many players have played more minutes and, in more positions, than he has. He worked incredibly hard deputising for Colin Hamilton earlier in the season and again has stepped in across the back four and into the midfield without hesitation when required. He’s a great player to coach and is an influential figure to have in the dressing room. We are all delighted to get this completed and look forward to working with Scott again next season and beyond.”
Scott will retain his number 12 jersey for the next two seasons.
