Arbroath Walking Football Club players Davie Waddell and Gordon ‘Gogs’ Smith recently represented Scotland in the Samantha Birtles Memorial Shield tournament in England.
Scotland ended up winning the trophy, with Davie and Gordon playing so well that they got to bring it home to Arbroath!
As a thank you for the club and Community Trust’s support, the guys asked if they could house the trophy in the Arbroath Football Club boardroom.
We were delighted to take possession of the trophy at Gayfield last night. Represented were (left to right) Davie Waddell, Brian Cargill (Arbroath FC Director), Mike Burnett (Arbroath Walking Football Club Chairman) and Gordon Smith.
