Raith Rovers vs Arbroath – Match Preview

Ladbrokes Championship – Game 24 – Season 2020 / 2021

Saturday 10th April 2021, Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath travel to Fife tomorrow to take on second placed Raith Rovers.

The match is huge for both clubs as Raith are pushing to finish in second place with Dundee matching them on points but with Raith having a better goal difference of 6. For Arbroath the 3 points are vital to try and fend off the threat of relegation, so both teams will be going for the win.

The first match between the two sides on the opening day of the season was a tough match for Arbroath. They dominated the opening 30 minutes with Jamie MacDonald making some crucial saves before 2 quick fire goals and a penalty all before half time killed the game.

In the second half Thomas O’Brien was dismissed late on and Raith were awarded their second penalty kick by Referee Gavin Duncan who also takes charge tomorrow.

The game at Gayfield was won by a Kris Doolan goal on the hour mark in a game which Arbroath dominated from start to finish.

We are sure the match tomorrow will be another cracker and it is available to steam on raith.tv for £12

Raith Rovers will be without defender Iain Davidson who serves a one match suspension, with fellow defenders Fernandy Mendy yet to return from International Duty and David McKay a long term injury absentee.

It is also reported in the media that defenders Frankie Musonda and Kieran MacDonald are rated highly doubtful but with striker Lewis Vaughan back in amongst the goals the Lichties defence will no doubt be in for another busy afternoon.

Arbroath should be able to name the same squad as last weekend with it looking more than like that Luke Donnelly will return to the Arbroath squad before the end of the season which will be a huge boost for everyone.

We know it is another huge game for the club, but we hope you will be cheering us on from home.

C’mon the Lichties!
