Match Day 36 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2017 / 2018
Saturday 28th April 2018, Hampden Park, Glasgow, 3.00pm kick off.
Arbroath travel down to the National Stadium tomorrow for the final game of a second sensational season in a row.
Whatever the results are come 4.45pm in Ladbrokes League One, full credit has to go to Dick and Ian, John Young, John Ritchie, the players and Directors for another stunning season where we have shown we have the hunger and talent to compete with the full time teams.
Tomorrow will possibly be the hardest game of the season. We face Gus McPherson’s Queen’s Park who need to win to give themselves the best opportunity of securing a place in the Ladbrokes League One play-off semi-final.
Albion Rovers sit just 2 points above the spiders, and the Wee Rovers travel to Ayr United who must win to have any chance of winning the league.
Throw into that equation the race for 3rd place and Arbroath know that a win all but confirms 3rd place as Alloa Athletic travel to Kirkcaldy to face a Raith Rovers side who know if they win they will be crowned champions. If Alloa were to win also, they would have to overcome a 9 goal advantage to secure 3rd.
It will be an afternoon of celebrations and tears for certain teams but the Lichties must remain focused as we will be playing either Ayr United / Raith Rovers or Dumbarton at Gayfield on Wednesday.
Arbroath will be without Colin Hamilton who serves a one-match suspension for his 6th yellow card of the season but will be back for the play-offs. Central defender Thomas O’Brien still remains a doubt having sat out last week’s win over Airdrieonians.
It will be a tough afternoon but with players playing for a place in the starting line up on Wednesday, there is all to play for.
Your support once again has been fantastic this season and we ask you again to cheer on the team for this final league game of the season as we try and secure 3rd place.
C’MON THE LICHTIES!
