Partick Thistle 2 – 0 Arbroath
Arbroath’s Championship future is still on their own hands as they head into the final game of the season at Gayfield on Friday night against Hamilton Accies.
It was another difficult afternoon as they suffered defeat at Firhill this afternoon against Partick Thistle who are chasing a Premiership play-off spot.
The Lichties made a bright start with Dale Hilson chasing onto a ball over the top for their first half chance before skipper Thomas O’Brien had a shot cleared off the line.
It was Kyle Turner though who opened the scoring for the hosts on the 40th minute as Partick went into the interval with the lead.
Steven Hetherington had a shot from distance tipped over the bar in the 61st minute but it was Turner again who scored just 4 minutes later to seal the points for Thistle.
Derek Gaston made several stunning saves despite suffering from sickness throughout the night and before kick off.
Despite having 11 corners Arbroath really didn’t test Mitchell in the Partick goal and now must regroup for Friday’s game.
C’mon the Lichties
