New Signing – Josh Skelly
Arbroath FC can announce that terms have been agreed for Josh Skelly to return to Gayfield permanently in a one year deal for next season.
Josh has had 2 successful loan spells with the Lichties from Dundee over the last 2 seasons and Dick Campbell is delighted to be able to secure his services for the upcoming campaign in Ladbrokes League 1.
Josh was voted Young Player of the Season in our recent Award Ceremony on top of having his winning goal against Elgin City nominated for goal of the season.
Josh first joined Arbroath on a development loan in January 2016 and went on to make 10 starting appearances and another 4 as a substitute in our difficult 2015 / 2016 season but did score against East Stirlingshire and Elgin City.
In the 2016 / 2017 season Josh again signed on loan for the Lichties in early August making his second debut as a substitute against Montrose. Josh made 13 starting appearances in the league with another 9 as a substitute before an injury ruled him out of the final 10 league games. Josh also made 2 substitute appearances in the Scottish Cup.
Josh scored a spectacular winner against Elgin City and a vital last minuter winner against Annan Athletic as well as goals against Clyde, Stirling Albion and Cowdenbeath and several assists proving a vital player on the pitch.
We are all very excited and delighted to see Josh back at Gayfield.
