The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy (Best Newcomer of the year) Voted by the Board of Directors
The Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy is a trophy in the memory of lifelong Lichtie Angus Nairn who sadly passed away a few years ago.
The memorial trophy was donated by his family and is awarded to the best newcomer of the year, and is voted by the Arbroath FC Board of Directors.
Previous winners include Blair Yule and Jason Thomson, and we are delighted to announce that Miko Virtanen is the winner of the Angus Nairn Memorial Trophy for 2019/2020.
Miko has had an outstanding season on loan at Arbroath from Aberdeen, and despite the season coming to a premature end, Miko’s performances in midfield in Arbroath have seen him become an instant hero with the Lichtie support and caught the attention of many players and supporters throughout the Championship.
A gentleman off the pitch, Miko really made a huge impact on everyone at the club and we are delighted that he returns to Aberdeen with another accolade under his belt.
Congratulations Miko!
