Megatech Projects Ltd – Main Sponsor Extension
Arbroath FC are delighted to announce that Arbroath FC Main Sponsor, Megatech Projects Ltd have extended their long standing sponsorship of Arbroath FC.
The 2020/2021 season was the 7th season that Megatech Projects Ltd have been the main sponsor of Arbroath FC and we are delighted we are entering our 3rd year in the Championship with Megatech Projects Ltd as our main sponsor for a remarkable 8th season.
Megatech Projects Ltd Managing Director is former Lichtie George Rowe and a very good friend of the club.
The relationship between Megatech Projects Ltd and George Rowe goes back many, many years.
George Rowe joined the club at the start of 2000 and was part of a formidable defence alongside Jim Thomson as Arbroath were promoted to the first division coming runners up behind Partick Thistle.
In his second season at Gayfield George led Arbroath into the First Division in an incredible season where Arbroath finished in 7th place above St Mirren, Falkirk and Raith Rovers.
Not only that, but Dick Campbell also signed George when he was in charge of Partick Thistle and George has known Arbroath Chairman Mike Caird for over 20 years.
Megatech Projects started their sponsorship back in the 2014/2015 season and it has been a fantastic journey together with now two championships lifted and two seasons in the Championship all with Megatech Projects Ltd proudly on our strips.
This past season Megatech Projects Ltd also become our very first sleeve sponsor and our relationship grew every stronger and part of our history.
The past two seasons has been particularly hard for us all, but when the news of the football season was halted in March 2019, Mike received a phone call from George that day asking if there was anything he could do for the club – a true reflection of George’s personality.
George’s generosity and passion for sport doesn’t just stop with Arbroath FC.
Megatech Projects are the main sponsor of local youth side Arbroath Harp Amateur & Youth Football Club meaning even more youngsters are able to take up football in the community.
In addition, George also now sponsors Dart players Chris Dobey, Adam Hunt, Mark McGeeney who are all dart players for Tommy Gilmour’s Dunvegan Enterprises.
With many people and charities suffering through the pandemic, Megatech Projects Ltd have donated over £100,000 to charity in 2020.
The two main charities who benefited from the generosity of MPL were Back on Side and Calum’s Cabin.
Back Onside, who aim to promote the importance of sport, music, drama and art to mental health and wellbeing have done an incredible job in a year which has seen a sharp rise in those struggling with their mental health and wellbeing.
Calums Cabin have also continued through the pandemic providing accommodation and respite for families with children undergoing cancer treatment throughout Scotland.
