Ladbrokes League One Season 2018 / 2019

This evening the play-off final confirmed the 10 teams for Ladbrokes League One Season 2018 / 201.

It was Congratulations to Alloa Athletic who defeated Dumbarton in extra time to move up to the Championship. Alloa were the form team in League One at the death and they reach the Championship after finishing 2nd in the League in 2016/2017 but lost out to Brechin City in the play-offs.

Commiserations to Dumbarton FC who after 6 seasons in the Championship move back down to League One. They have set a high standard in a very difficult league.

This means we will be facing 4 new sides in the 2018 / 2019 season – Montrose, Brechin City, Dumbarton and Stenhousemuir.

The arrival of Montrose and Brechin City means that all Angus teams are in the same league for the first time in 25 years with and incredible 12 Angus Derbies.

With East Fife and Raith Rovers also still in the league we have 5 away trips all within 50 miles of Gayfield with Stranraer the longest away trip of the season.

It is going to be another hard league with Dumbarton showing their pedigree this season and full time Raith Rovers and Airdrieonians still in the league.
