Julie Harper

POWERED BY OUR PASSION

Julie Harper

Sadly, the time has come that we have to say goodbye to our dear and loved Julie Harper who leaves Arbroath on Sunday as she says yee haa as she makes the transfer back to Dallas, Texas.

We tried our very best to keep her to stay, but with temperatures reaching 36° in the summer and highs of 15° even in the winter we have reluctantly let Julie leave on a free transfer.

Quoted in the Courier back in 2014 as Arbroath’s self proclaimed “Hostess with the mostest” Julie says goodbye to Gayfield having spent over 6 years with the club.

Friends to the stars Julie Harper has worn many hats with the club but has been responsible for co-ordinating all of our events from birthday parties to referee seminars and everything in between and not forgetting looking after everyone on a Saturday afternoon in Hospitality, although we weren’t sure wine taster was an official role!

Julie always has a smile for everyone and those who really have had the pleasure get to know her get to share her wicked sense of humour and enjoy her laugh.

We have got to see Olivia grow up and she has charmed us all with her cuteness and we were lucky that she was our mascot in our last home game of the season against Dumbarton.

We are all going to truly miss “our Julie” but we know she will be back to visit, when maybe this time she can enjoy our hospitality and put her feet up and enjoy even more wine!

Julie in her time made 0 appearances, 0 from the bench and scored 0 goals, apparently her heels kept on bursting the ball! but off the pitch her appearances have soared into the hundreds!

Rumour has it in the 9 suitcases she is leaving Arbroath with, one of them does include a few cans of Irn Bru, some British Chocolate and real Scottish bacon – If anyone who has ever been to America knows that bacon just isn’t the same! Although we feel Mr Trump may try and confiscate her Irn Bru upon arrival!

Things definitely wont be the same around Gayfield without her ( I mean, it is going to be so quiet!) but from Mike and the Directors, all of the background staff, the Management team, and all the players and myself we wish her all the very best in Dallas!

Goodbye and thank you Julie from everyone at Gayfield!

Have a safe trip Y’all and yee haaaaaaa!
