James “Jim” Riddle

James “Jim” Riddle
Everyone at Arbroath FC were very saddened to hear that former Lichtie James Riddle passed away on the 8th of May at Ninewells Hospital.
Our thoughts and condolences are with James’s family at this very sad time.
It has been a very sad few days for Arbroath FC with the passing of Tom Cargill who would have been a team mate of James during their time at Gayfield.
James, commonly known as Jim was signed in 1963 by legendary manager Albert Henderson and was at Gayfield until 1969. James also spent a season on loan at Brechin City in 1966.
James Captained the Arbroath FC reserve side that won the Reserve League in 1964 – A great achievement in our club’s rich history!
The funeral service for James will take place at Parkgrove Crematorium, Friockheim on Wednesday 22nd May at 2.30pm to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.
Our thoughts are with James’ wife, Marion and his children Anne, Lorna and Iain. James was also a father-in-law to Dennis and Kate and a very proud granddad of Callum and Hannah.
The thoughts of everyone at Arbroath FC and everyone associated with our club reach out to James’ family and friends.
The flag at Gayfield will be at half-mast on Wednesday as mark of respect for James
Rest in Peace James
