Wendy and Ralph are both members of the Arbroath Volunteer Group, Angus Clean Environments and on Wednesday afternoon the are painting 2 cycling millennium mileposts in Arbroath’s colours to celebrate our League One Title win.
The Millennium Mileposts were created Tt celebrate the National Cycle Network at the turn of the century, Sustrans Scotland commissioned four artists from the four countries of the United Kingdom to design cast iron ‘Millennium Mileposts’.
1,000 mileposts were created and installed across all the regions, stretching to all corners, some as far north as the Shetland Islands. You’ll find them in rural locations along our routes, at train stations and other key locations where the network runs through villages, towns and cities.
The first milepost is next to the Signal Tower Museum just yards from Gayfield and the other milepost is at the end Victoria Park where Kings Drive turns left and heads towards Seaton.
Any Lichties who would like to help should head down to the Signal Tower Museum for 12.15pm on Wednesday 22nd May.
