Hall of Fame 2016

ARBROATH FC
HALL OF FAME DINNER
Arbroath FC is holding its annual Hall of Fame Dinner within a Marquee on the pitch at Gayfield on the evening of Friday, 9th September, 2016. Last year’s event was a great success and the Club is looking forward to another great night of entertainment.
After consultation with Club Supporters, the Club has decided that the following individuals will be inducted into the Club’s Hall of Fame recognising the great service, commitment and dedication they gave to the Club and its Supporters. The 2016 Inductees are:

Bob McGlashan who joined the club as a player and subsequently filled the roles of Secretary and Manager in a continuous period spanning 50 years.
Ian Stirling, a local lad who again joined the Club as a player and went on to captain the Club through a very successful period. After hanging up his boots he joined the Board before becoming Chairman.
Jimmy Jack fills a prominent place in Arbroath Football Club’s Hall of Fame as the greatest goal scorer in the Club’s league history, scoring 120 times during his six year spell at Gayfield.
Dave Easson who during the 1958/59 season was the biggest “goal grabber” in British senior football, notching an amazing 52 league and cup goals during a promotion winning season to the first division.
Paul Sheerin who as a rookie manager led the Club arguably to its greatest achievement in recent history winning our first national trophy in the Club’s 133 year history.
In addition to the Hall of Fame induction, guests attending the event will enjoy an excellent 3 Course meal, a variety of after Dinner Speakers hosted by the well known journalist and broadcaster Mr Bill Leckie, as well as an Auction and Raffle.
It has also been confirmed that the following Scottish Football personalities will be coming along to the Event to enjoy a magnificent evening of football nostalgia; Archie Knox, Jimmy Bone, John Blackley, John Brownlie, Gordon Wallace and Jocky Scott will all be attending and the Club manager, Dick Campbell will be presenting a Question and Answer session with Archie Knox which will undoubtedly be an interesting and entertaining part of the evening.
A number of several other great Arbroath players from the past have also agreed to come along to the Dinner and they along with the other football personalities, will no doubt be happy to chat with Guests and Supporters of the Club.
The Club are delighted that so many of its past Players and Managers are giving up their time to support the Club’s Hall of Fame celebrations and this promises to be an evening packed full of humour, enjoyment, sporting history as well as a formal recognition of great service given to the Club over many years.
