Greenock Morton vs Arbroath – Match Preview
cinch Scottish Championship – Game 27 – Season 2021/2022
Saturday 26th February 2022, Cappielow Park, Greenock, 3.00pm kick off
Arbroath travel down to Greenock today to take on the form side in the Championship.
Since the sides last met at Gayfield in December Morton have only lost once which was last Saturday away to Hamilton Academical and defeated Partick Thistle on Tuesday night at Firhill.
Iain Wilson has joined from Dunfermline Athletic alongside Jamie Brandon who has joined on loan from Hearts, but other than that Dougie has transformed the Cappielow side and Arbroath will be in for another very hard game.
Dougie Imrie is suspended from the home dug out and must watch the game from the stand.
Both matches this season have been incredibly close with Colin Hamilton scoring in each one against his brother. The first game needed an 87th minute penalty from Michael McKenna to rescue a point whilst Anton Dowds scored the winner in the 80th minute at Gayfield.
Arbroath should welcome back Jack Hamilton who suffered food poisoning last weekend, whilst Chris Hamilton also should return to the squad. Gavin Swankie sits out as he serves a suspension, whilst both Liam Henderson and Nicky Low who were nursing injuries last week will hopefully be included in some capacity.
It will be another extremely tough match but we hope you can get right behind the team from the very start.
C’mon the Lichties!
