Greenock Morton vs Arbroath – Match Preview
Cinch Scottish Championship – Game 08 – Season 2021/2022
Saturday 2nd October 2021, Cappielow Park, Greenock, 3.00pm kick off
Arbroath travel down to the West Coast tomorrow to take on Gus MacPherson’s Greenock Morton for our 8th game of the season.
The sides last met in a 0-0 draw at Gayfield at the end of last season with the result ensuring Arbroath finished in 7th place, a point above Ayr United and Greenock Morton.
The matches between the sides haven’t been high scoring in recent seasons with only one goal scored in 3 matches last season as a Jack Hamilton goal on his debut gave us a win at Cappielow.
Greenock Morton have had a large turn around in playing staff and have really strengthened up front with Colin Hamilton’s brother Jack, also having joined from Dundee over the summer.
In their last match Morton earned a point in a goal less draw against Ayr United, but at Cappielow they are always well organised, disciplined and hard to break down.
Arbroath will welcome back David Gold who served his one match suspension last weekend, but will be without Nicky Low who is recovering from the twisted ankle suffered last Friday when the Kilmarnock player came down on his ankle just seconds before the full time whistle.
Arbroath will be looking to make it 7 games undefeated but Cappielow is never an easy place to travel to.
It will be another extremely tough match but we hope you can get right behind the team from the very start.
C’mon the Lichties
