Dumbarton vs Arbroath – Match Preview

Ladbrokes Championship Play-Off Semi-Final 2nd Leg — Season 2017 / 2018

Saturday 5th May 2018, Dumbarton Football Stadium, Dumbarton, 3.00pm kick off.

Arbroath travel down to Dumbarton tomorrow afternoon knowing that they need a win to progress into the Championship Play-Off Final.

With only one goal in it, Arbroath know what is required.

Should the Lichties win by 1 goal the tie will go to extra time (2 x 15 minute periods each way) and then if it is still level a penalty shoot out.

However if Arbroath were to win by 2 outright goals they would go straight through, but if Dumbarton win or draw the Lichties are out.

Dumbarton will be without goalscorer Craig Barr after his appeal for his red card on Saturday was thrown out and therefore his suspension kicks in, however the Sons do welcome back former Brechin City Defender Dougie Hill.

Dumbarton have a doubt over other scorer Callum Gallagher who is nursing a foot injury and Chris McLaughlin misses out through injury.

Arbroath have no fresh injury worries and Manager Dick Campbell knows what his side must do.

The Lichties have a much better away record this season and we will be hoping we can count on that again and take positives from the numerous chances created on Wednesday evening.

The game is certainly not over, and it is merely half time. There is so much to play for and an exciting 90 minutes to come.
