Derek Gaston signs a new 2-year Contract Extension
We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to announce that our goalkeeper Derek Gaston has signed a new 2-year contract extension to remain at Gayfield.
Derek who has 16 clean sheets in the Championship this season has been in stunning form and we are delighted to secure his future with Arbroath.
Since signing from Greenock Morton for our first season in the Championship, Derek has played in 79 Championship matches, 7 Scottish Cup, 10 League Cup and 2 in the Challenge Cup making 98 starts in total.
If our sums are correct, we believe he has also made 34 clean sheets in the process, which is a remarkable stat!
Off the pitch, Derek is a giant of a gentleman and always smiling and this season has taken up a new role with Rangers, as a coach at the Rangers Training Centre. Covering many age groups and levels from the B Team, to the youth teams and across boys and girls.
We hope this is more good news for our supporters on what is turning out to be a sensational season!
