David Mayes
We are again thinking of David Mayes who is laid to rest this afternoon.
As a big Arbroath fan we can also dedicate our title win to David and his family
David sadly passed away on Sunday 31st March at the age of just 22.
David a Lichtie after growing up in Scotland and attending matches at Gayfield. A very young David would also help his late uncle Colin at Gayfield when his uncle used to help out on match days.
David moved to South Wales 5 years ago where he followed Swansea City.
David has always kept up with the results of Arbroath and was normally one of the first supporters to like our Facebook posts.
David leaves behind his 2 year old daughter, Sophie Leigh Mayes and his loving girlfriend Mair Reynolds. They met each other at Neath College 5 years ago.
David also leaves behind a large family and his brother Robert Mayes.
David was always making people laugh and always made people smile and was Mair’s soulmate.
A huge football fan, he would watch any game but loved Arbroath, Swansea City and Arsenal and Scotland – David was proud to be Scottish.
A go fund me page was set up to help David’s young family pay for his funeral.
