Danny Denholm

Arbroath FC can confirm that Danny Denholm will be leaving Gayfield when his contract comes to an end and as already announced, Danny will be signing for East Fife.
Danny signed for the Lichties on the 1st June 2017 after 3 seasons at Station Park having played full time football with Livingston during the 2013-2014 season.
Danny enjoyed his first spell at Forfar Athletic in the 2012-2013 season making the move from Stirling University where Danny won the East of Scotland Football League.
Danny became an instant hit with the Arbroath faithful hitting two goals against Montrose in the Betfred Cup, before scoring the opening goal in our 2017/2018 league campaign against Queen’s Park.
League Goals followed against East Fife, Stranraer x 2, Airdrieonians x 2, Alloa Athletic, Stranraer, Ayr United and Airdrieonians.
In total Danny scored 12 goals in his debut season (2 Betfred Cup, 10 Scottish League One) and competitively made 33 starting appearances and a further 9 appearances from the bench.
This season Danny scored against East Fife and Montrose in the league and also netted against Annan Athletic in the Irn-Bru Cup and competitively made 17 starting appearances and a further 21 appearances from the bench.
Oh and of course there was the hat-trick against Celtic!
As well as being an integral part of our team over the last two seasons Danny has also been making the headlines off the pitch with this blog and then podcast.
Danny has given a glimpse that most supporters don’t see as he lays bare the juggling act required to be a part-time footballer whilst also having a career, family, training etc.
The blog and podcasts have led Danny to having his own BBC Column, writing several articles and appearing on numerous footballing podcasts and phone ins.
It’s been a pleasure having Danny at the club and we all wish him all the very best for the future and he leaves Arbroath FC with a League One Winners medal!
Good luck Danny!

Danny Denholm scores a superb individual goal against Stranraer. Danny picked up the ball on the wing, cutting inside past 3 players and hitting the top corner on the turn!
