Dale Hilson
Arbroath FC can today confirm that 27-year-old striker Dale Hilson has signed for the Lichties.
Dale has made the move from Forfar Athletic, where he was in his 6th spell with the club and has 7 goals in all competitions this season
Having started his career with Dundee United, Dale made his professional debut in October 2009 and going on to win the Under-19 Scottish Premier League Player of the Season 2009-2010 whilst also representing Scotland at U17 and U19 level with 3 goals for his country.
The next 4 seasons Dale spent on loan at Station Park from Dundee United, before making the move permanent in the 2014/2015 before spending two seasons at Championship side Queen of the South. A move to St Mirren followed for the 2017-2018 season, before making his 6th return to Station Park in January 2018.
Last season Dale hit 14 goals and was named in the Scottish PFA League 1 Team of the Year whilst he also was nominated for Scottish PFA League 1 Player of the Year alongside Kevin Nisbet, Dom Thomas and our very own Bobby Linn who would scoop the award.
A player that our Manager Dick Campbell knows very well and a player Arbroath fans will be very familiar with with our battles against Forfar Athletic over the past seasons.
Dale is cup-tied for this afternoon but will be available for selection on Tuesday night when we take on Alloa Athletic.
We hope everyone gives a very warm welcome to Dale!
Welcome to the club!
C’mon the Lichties
