Ayr United vs Arbroath – Match Preview
cinch Scottish Championship – Game 02 – Season 2021 / 2022
Saturday 7th August 2021, Somerset Park, Ayr, 3.00pm kick off
Arbroath make the long journey down to Ayr tomorrow for our second match in the new cinch Scottish Championship.
Ayr United played on Monday night in the Ayrshire Derby against Kilmarnock losing out 2-0.
There has been a large turn around in playing staff since our last match against Ayr United, a 4-0 win at Gayfield in April with 10 players arriving, including 5 players from Greenock Morton and 14 players departing or their loans coming to an end.
Striker Jonathan Afolabi joined the club on loan from Celtic on Monday and played against the Lichties last season whilst turning out for Dundee. Midfielder Daire O’Connor is the player that seems to have grabbed the Ayr United’s supporters excitement and the Lichties will have to look out for him tomorrow.
Arbroath will welcome back Liam Henderson tomorrow after he has successfully completed a one-match suspension which just leaves doubt on David Gold and Jason Thomson.
We know it is a long journey but the players and Management team will be very grateful for those supporters who are traveling down, with Ayr United also offering a PPV for tomorrow’s match for £18.
Thanks for your support as ever!
C’mon the Lichties!
