Ayr United vs Arbroath – Match Preview

Ladbrokes Championship – Game 18 – Season 2020 / 2021

Saturday 27th February 2021, Somerset Park, Ayr, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath make the long trip down to Somerset Park tomorrow to take on Ayr United which at full time will also signal that only a third of the season remains.

Ayr United are always firm favourites at Somerset Park. The bad weather has forced a series of matches for Ayr United, as they have only played two games so far in February with defeats by Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Heart of Midlothian.

Over the winter transfer Ayr United lost Bruce Anderson and Innes Cameron who were recalled by their parent clubs but did bring in Corrie Ndaba and Brett McGavin from Ipswich Town, and they made Cammy Smith’s loan permanent from Dundee United and signed striker Andre Wright from Bohemians, although Ayr United report that he is injured and misses out tomorrow.

Arbroath will welcome back James Craigen who returns from his one match suspension, and Carlo Pignatiello will be added to the squad whilst it is hoped Jack Hamilton has recovered from the knock which kept him out last weekend. Gavin Swankie and Luke Donnelly will both be missing for the Lichties.

Arbroath’s last penalty kick in all competitions came in our last visit to Somerset Park on 10th December 2019, where Michal McKenna netted in a 1-1 draw.

We hope you can support the Lichties by watching from home via https://ayrunitedmedia.co.uk/live-streaming which is on sale for £12.50. Please remember you have to have signed up 90 minutes before kick off.
