Match Day 34 – Ladbrokes League One – Season 2018 / 2019

Sunday 21st April 2019, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 4.05pm kick off

The Lichties return to Gayfield tomorrow for their penultimate home game of the 2018 / 2019 season.

A remarkable season which erupted into celebration last Saturday as we were crowned Scottish League One Champions.

We welcome John McGlynn’s Raith Rovers to Gayfield in a game which will no doubt be highly competitive all whilst being screened live on BBC ALBA.

The meetings between the sides this season have all been close encounters.

A 1-1 draw back in October at Stark’s Park was followed up by a 2-0 win for Raith at Gayfield in December against 10 man Arbroath.

The match, which Gavin Swankie was sent off in the late in first half – only for his second yellow card to be rescinded after appeal.

The last game at Stark’s Park was a hard fought win for Arbroath with Colin Hamiton netting the only goal.

This, the final game of the season is as unpredictable as the others but it will be hard fought.

Raith Rovers Team News

Raith Rovers have been hit by injury this season and in their last game at home to Stranraer were without Craig Thomson, Grant Gillespie, Chris Duggan and Lewis Vaughan.

Many of the youth players at Stark’s Park have been given the opportunity to be on the bench of a late and enter play and have been receiving many plaudits.

Arbroath Team News

Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell has already stated that he will be giving playing time to those who have been on the bench lately from now until the end of the season so it is likely that Ryan McCord, Luke Donnelly, Greig Spence and Steven Doris all could be involved.

Bobby Linn will again be missing for the Lichties as he recovers from injury.

This will be a very tough match so again we would appreciate a large and vocal support from all Lichties who can make it to Gayfield tomorrow!
