cinch Scottish Championship – Game 25 – Season 2021/2022

Friday 4th February 2022, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 7.45pm kick off

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – GATES OPEN 6.30PM

Arbroath welcome Kilmarnock to Gayfield tonight for the cinch Scottish Championship game of the weekend.

It’s hard to believe that Gayfield will be under the lights and live on BBC Scotland as we welcome Derek McInnes and his Kilmarnock in this top of the table clash.

The Lichties have caught the imagination of so many neutrals this season and with 14 games to go anything is still possible!

Derek McInnes has wasted no time in strengthening his Kilmarnock side with Kyle Lafferty, Ash Taylor, Dean Campbell, Declan Glass, Daniel Mackay and Dylan Tait all joining up at Rugby Park to give the Rugby Park side one of the largest and experienced squads in the division.

Since McInnes took over Kilmarnock have defeated Queen of the South and Inverness Caledonian Thistle and drew with Partick Thistle but suffered defeat against Dundee United in a match that went to extra time.

In our previous two meetings the side drew in a goalless draw at Gayfield, before an Anton Dowds header gave Arbroath their first ever win at Rugby Park in November.

With their January reinforcements this will be the toughest game of the season for the Lichties, but you know that Dick Campbell will have his side fired up for the game.

Sam Ford will be straight into the squad this evening and he has been assigned shirt number 16, and it is hoped both David Gold and Nicky Low will be involved giving Arbroath a full squad.

Reminder that we can now list 9 substitutes and use 5 throughout the match.

It will be another extremely tough match but we hope you can get right behind the team from the very start.

C’mon the Lichties
