Arbroath vs Dundee United – Match Preview
Ladbrokes Championship – Game 17 – Season 2019 / 2020
Saturday 14th December 2019, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off
It is the final game of the year at Gayfield tomorrow and what a match it is set to be!
Robbie Neilson’s Dundee United who are also the Championship Leaders visit with at least 2800 United supporters heading up the coast to Gayfield.
It should be the largest crowd at Gayfield for several seasons and our biggest in the league for years.
The last time the sides met at the end of September Dundee United there was a cruel twist for the Lichties as Lawrence Shankland scored twice in the final seconds to give United the win.
The Lichties did however triumph in the 1st round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup when the came out on top 4-3 on penalties.
Dundee United are on a rich reign of form with 7 wins on the bounce which has let them open up a 10 point gap at the top of the table.
Dundee United welcome back Paul McMullan and Cammy Smith, but will be without Peter Pawlett.
Arbroath were delighted to have Steven Doris back in action on Tuesday night after he recovered from a strain picked up in the warm up down at Auchinleck.
It has been a really tough week with games against Dundee then away to Ayr United but with two draws so far it really has proved how far the Lichties have come.
2019 has been one of the best years in the clubs history on and off the pitch and we go into 2020 with the League One Trophy in the Gayfield Trophy Cabinet.
It will be another extremely game for the Lichties, but we hope to have your support behind us from kick off.
