Arbroath vs Darvel FC – Match Preview
Scottish Cup 4th Round – Season 2021 / 2022
Saturday 22nd January 2022, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off
We welcome Michael Kennedy and his Darvel side to Gayfield for our first ever meeting.
The game is the 4th round of the Scottish Cup and we hope for a large crowd and a great atmosphere as we welcome back fans to Gayfield.
Darvel overcame Brechin City in the 3rd round having defeated Stranraer in the second round and we know we are in for a very tough match.
The Darvel team has experience throughout the team with many of the players well known throughout Scottish Football with players like Daryll Meggatt, Andy Stirling, David Galt, Jordan Kirkpatrick having faced the Lichties in recent seasons with different clubs.
We expect a large traveling Darvel support so we hope that the homes fans will help create a great atmosphere for the Lichties.
Both Jack Hamilton and Craig Wighton will be able to play, and it is hoped that both Michael McKenna and David Gold will be back in contention as Arbroath look to be at full strength.
In the result of the game being drawn after 90 minutes the match will go to extra time, and then if needed a penalty shoot-out.
It will be another extremely tough match but we hope you can get right behind the team from the very start.
C’mon the Lichties!
