Arbroath vs Cove Rangers – Match Preview
Cinch Scottish Championship – Game 34 – Season 2022/2023
Saturday 22nd April, Gayfield Park, Arbroath – 3.00pm kick off
Arbroath welcome Paul Hartley’s Cove Rangers to Gayfield this afternoon for another HUGE match in Arbroath’s history.
Dick Campbell’s team know that if they win and pick up 3 points that next season they will be playing in the Scottish Championship for a 5th season.
Yet, Cove Rangers know that they need all 3 points just as much with a win potentially moving them above Hamilton Accies who host Partick Thistle.
Cove Rangers were triumphant in the side’s first meeting this season whilst the last two matches have seen last minute goals first by Blair Yule to secure a draw for Cove at Gayfield in November, before Toyosi Olusanya’s 89th minute goal secured a vital point for the Lichties.
Cove Rangers have been dealing with injuries over the past few weeks but are expected to recall Scott Fox but are lily to be without Brody Paterson, Shay Logan, Blair Yule, Miko Virtanen and Fraser Fyvie. Whilst David Bangala and Gime Touré have been missing for Cove for the past few games. Despite the injuries Cove still have an experienced and skillful pool of players at their disposal.
Scott Stewart took a nasty boot to the face towards the end of the match last Saturday and it is hoped he will be okay to play and Arbroath will also be hopeful that Sean Adarkwa and Paul Komolafe will be fit enough to return after they both missed out last Saturday but Colin Hamilton and Scott Bitsindou are both out.
IT IS A HUGE game and we do hope that you will be back on the terraces cheering us on.
C’mon the Lichties!
