Arbroath vs Raith Rovers – Match Preview

Ladbrokes Championship – Game 17 – Season 2020 / 2021

Saturday 19th February 2021, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

An example of the streaming quality of Arbroath FC TV

Arbroath are back in action tomorrow as they welcome Raith Rovers to Gayfield for the side’s second meeting of the season.

It is the first time the two sides have met since the opening day of the season where Arbroath were on top for the first 30 minutes but didn’t take their chances with Raith then scoring 3 goals before half time. The second half wasn’t any better with Thomas O’Brien being shown a second yellow card for an apparent handball but Derek Gaston denied Regan Hendry to make keep the score at 3-0.

Raith Rovers sit second in the Championship and have impressed many with their attacking football as the league’s second highest scorers with 29 goals.

With an already impressive striking line up, Rovers brought in the very dangerous Kai Kennedy from Rangers on loan, Timmy Abraham from Fulham, Jamie Gullan from Hibernian and Adam King from Dundee United in January to bolster their already impressive strike force.

Arbroath are now unbeaten in 6 games, scoring 8 goals along the way with Jack Hamilton impressing already with three goals in his first four games giving Arbroath a new dimension up front.

However tomorrow’s match will be a very tough match as the Arbroath defence try and keep tabs on the Raith Strike force.

Gavin Swankie misses out with injury and James Craigen is suspended for tomorrow’s match as Manager Dick Campbell will be looking to build on his side’s recent good form.

It will be another tough match, but we hope you will be cheering us on from home!

C’mon the Lichties!
