It has been an incredible year in so many ways. Last season we were on a high and pushing to finish in the top 4 of the Championship and then of course the global pandemic hit, and has continued to effect not just Arbroath FC but all of us.
Our supporters have been there for us, as always and our Supporters Wall will be the overwhelming positive of the pandemic for us and we are delighted that now those names of our supporters and lost loved ones will forever be found in our second home.
This season has been tough so far, but we know with Dick and Ian and everyone at the club it won’t be long before we turn the corner.
Ayr United last visited Gayfield in February when the match was abandoned at half time due to high winds and as always the visitors are one of the best teams in the Championship.
Having lost Craig Moore to injury this season and Alan Forrest sealing a switch to Livingston, Manager Mark Kerr has brought in some exciting players including Tom Walsh from Inverness in midfield, Jack Baird from St Mirren in defence along with Bruce Anderson and Cammy Smith on loan from Aberdeen and Dundee United but it is goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo who joined on loan from Aston Villa who has been grabbing the headlines with a series of fine performances.
https://ayrunitedfc.co.uk/ report that Innes Cameron misses out after a knock in training but Cammy Smith returns after serving a one-match suspension.
Arbroath will be hoping Mark Whatley will be fit after leaving the field last week due to injury and that Miko Virtanen will also be fit after missing out due to a hamstring problem.
It will be another incredibly tough game for the Lichties, but the boys as always will give it their all for you.
C’mon the Lichties!
