Football and the participation of sport can help support wellbeing and encourage a healthy lifestyle which is extremely important just now.
We believe Arbroath FC CT will provide great benefits to the community of Arbroath not just from a social perspective but from a football development perspective too.
Working in collaboration with the wider Arbroath football family, one of the key aims is to enhance participation pathways and promote lifelong participation of our “beautiful game”.
The Trust have a theme of Sport and are pleased to announce that Kevin Middleton will be coming on board to develop this work as the new Football Development Officer. This will allow greater links to be made with local clubs while growing the current offer into football supporting those with additional needs.
Kevin said “Helping improve football in the local area has been my primary focus in the last few years so I am absolutely delighted to be a part of the Arbroath FC CT. I know that if we use the power of the badge, combined with a lot of hard work, then we will continue to grow football at all levels in the Arbroath area.”
Charity Chairperson, Shelley Hague said that “Building on what we have achieved so far we are delighted with this contract and what can be delivered to improve the local football offer. The trustees will continue the hard work to look for and develop more opportunities to benefit local people”.
Arbroath FC Director and Trustee Brian Cargill said “The Club has always supported football development in the local community. The appointment of Kevin as the Football Development Officer will make sure that all local players both young and old will now have a link and a direction going forward. The trust will also ensure that football is available to all who want to take part and it really is an exciting time for the Arbroath football community.”
In the coming months the trustees will continue the development work and will be talking with community groups to ensure that we focus these efforts and develop programs to support local goals.
