Arbroath FC Charity 3rd Kit 2023/24

Arbroath Football Club are today delighted to announce Guide Dogs Scotland as our official charity partner for season 23/24.

Ahead of the new campaign we can officially unveil in conjunction with Guide Dogs Scotland our brand new bespoke third kit which has adopted the corporate colours of GDS as well as proudly displaying their logo on the socks.

The new strip will be on sale in the Arbroath Club Shop from 10am on Saturday 1st July and on sale online at shop.arbroathfc.co.uk

Commercial Director of Arbroath FC, Paul Reid explained: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Guide Dog Scotland as our charity partner for the new season.

This partnership makes a lot of sense for us as a club. Our club ambassador Alan Soutar and his long-term partner Amanda are huge supporters of Guide Dogs.

They have fostered five dogs and are regular visitors to Gayfield, with the dogs.

We are committed to supporting the training and development of Guide Dogs in anyway possible and have had a number of practicing dogs attend matches at Gayfield with their trainers.

This has allowed them to experience different atmospheres, noises and situations to further their development.

It is incredible to see the amazing, hard and selfless work that goes in to getting the dogs prepared for adult life to ultimately support people with visual impairments.

As a club, we want to further promote this via our platform and highlight awareness of this wonderful charity.

We have many exciting plans ahead, including each first team player being paired up with their own working guide dog for the season.

We have also designed a kit that embraces our partnership with Guide Dogs, adopting the charity’s colours with their logo taking pride of place on the socks.

I’m looking forward to the bespoke Guide Dogs third kit going on sale so our players and fans can proudly share the charity’s message over the country and beyond.”

Guide Dogs Scotland has been based in Forfar since its original centre was opened on 1965 by HRH Princess Alexandra. The world-class school trains around 160 guide dogs annually, who go on to make incredible partners for people living with sight loss – enabling them to live active and independent lives. The charity estimates that around 8000 guide dogs have been trained in the region. As well as that, they also offer a range of different services, such as sighted guide partnerships, services for children & young people and much more.

With the charity almost entirely reliant on donations from the public and, with someone in the UK losing their sight every six minutes, the dedication from its volunteers, supporters, businesses and football clubs such as Arbroath FC has never been more important. Guide Dogs Scotland expressed its gratitude for the incredible support Arbroath has shown in forming this charity partnership.

Kyla McVicar, Fundraising Business Development Manager at Guide Dogs, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Arbroath Football Club for the coming season. We have had a long-standing connection to the club through many of our volunteers, but to work together in this way can really make a significant difference to those who benefit our services.

The club is one that has a strong community focus, which we are now proud to be an official part of and we’re looking forward to the exciting opportunities that lay ahead.

We would like to thank everyone involved at Arbroath FC for working with us in the design of this wonderfully unique, Labrador yellow Guide Dogs inspired kit.”
