Congratulations to Chris Hamilton who was voted by the Arbroath support as your Arbroath FC 2021/22 Young Player of the Year.

This is always a special award as it is voted by the Arbroath supporters.

Chris arrived at Gayfield on loan from Heart of Midlothian in July and since then has made 35 appearances in all competitions for Arbroath.

Starting out at right back, Chris soon made the move into a holding midfield position which he has made his own in a remarkable season which he has won the admiration of the Arbroath support with his natural skill, determination and fight as he battles against every player he faces.

The 20-year-old has showed absolutely no fear in going up against players with years of experience in the Premiership and in the Championship and his talent has seen him also feel the brunt of several heavy challenges in every game he plays by the opposition.

Chris has fitted into the dressing room and team with such ease and has been one of the first names on the team-sheet as he gives his absolute all when he is on the pitch for the Lichties

A young man who has a huge future ahead in the game and we hope that we haven’t seen the last of Chris at Gayfield in an Arbroath shirt.

We have had the honour of getting to know Chris and his family and watched him grow every game and we know there will be more to come in his long footballing career.
