Arbroath thumped local rivals Montrose this afternoon at a soaking wet Gayfield to move into second in Group D in the Betfred Cup.
David Gold opened the scoring in the 31st minute before second half substitute Danny Denholm scored twice in 5 minutes before Steven Doris netted the Lichtie’s 4th goal in the 90th minute after good play from Kane Hester.
Arbroath sit in 2nd place with 5 points, 3 points behind leaders Ross County and 1 point above Hibernian. However the Lichties travel to Easter Road on Tuesday to face Neil Lennon’s side before we welcome Ross County to Gayfield on Saturday 29th July.
