Arbroath 3 – 1 Airdrieonians

A game which was the proverbial game of two halves thanks to the Gayfield wind was won by the Lichties after another second half comeback.

Former Arbroath player Joao Victoria opened the scoring for the Diamonds in the 24th minute as the visitors dominated the half thanks to the strong wind.

However the Lichties knew they would have the wind in their favour for the second half and shot directly from kick off which former Lichtie David Hutton did well to hold on.

Arbroath got back into the game when Gavin Swankie got the better of Hutton to pull us level in the 51st minute.

Colin Hamilton thumped in a header from a Bobby Linn corner in the 64th minute to give us the lead and the points were secured in the 85th minute.

A Danny Denholm drive from 35 yards rattled the Arbroath bar with Ryan Wallace quick to pounce and score our 3rd goal in the 85th minute.

Another great win makes it 6 wins out of 8 games and retains our 4 point lead at the top of Ladbrokes League One.
