Arbroath suffered defeat at Gayfield this afternoon by fellow Championship side Alloa Athletic.
Bobby Linn opened the scoring with a trademark free kick in the 18th minute but Liam Buchanan equalised within 60 seconds with a goal that the Arbroath players disputed for offside.
Allan Trouten gave Alloa the lead in the 51st minute before Arbroath started to dominate.
Jason Thomson scored a spectacular cross come shot in the 74th minute but Alloa hit the Lichties on the break just 4 minutes later for the winning goal.
Today’s Defeat meant Hibernian were the only side to progress from Group C.
