Arbroath secured their place in the 4th round of the SPFL Trust Trophy with a comfortable 2-1 win over East Fife.
Dale Hilson won Arbroath a penalty after just 9 minutes with Michael McKenna making no mistake from the spot.
Just 2 minutes later David Gold chased down a loose ball which Alan Fleming had ran out to collect. The ball ended up back in Arbroath’s possession and a clever touch from Scott Allan found Dale Hilson in space and with the goal at his mercy he made no mistake from 25 yards to double Arbroath’s lead.
The first half was one way traffic but East Fife were unlucky not to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time as a shot flew off the post and back out.
Arbroath squandered several chances in the second half with substitute Kareem Isiaka hitting a perfect over head kick just to see it saved on the line.
With the last kick of the ball East Fife pulled one back from Jack Healy.
Arbroath are now into the next round!
