Arbroath lost out to a full strength Aberdeen side at Gayfield last night as a bumper crowd of 2081 packed into Gayfield for our first game of the pre-season. There were Arbroath debuts for Danny Denholm, Gavin Swankie, Thomas O’Brien and Man of the Match Blair Yule.
The Dons scored twice in the first half thanks to Adam Rooney and Greg Stewart, but Arbroath came into the match in the second half and substitute Kane Hester coming close twice for the Lichties. Aberdeen substitute Jayden Stockley headed in a 3rd goal after both sides made numerous substitutes before Kane Hester did get his well deserved goal with 4 minutes to go.
Arbroath FC would like to thank Aberdeen for the match and also to thank the large traveling Red Army who followed their team in huge numbers.
C’mon the Lichties!
