Arbroath couldn’t find the winning goal this evening as a determined Stranraer continued their good run of form at Gayfield as both sides settled for a point.
The point does extend the Lichties lead at the top to 13 points with only 13 games remaining thanks to Bobby Linn’s 26th minute strike which was his 17th goal of the campaign.
A stunning save from Darren Jamieson in the first half denied Joao Victoria from close range with Greig Spence also hitting the bar for the Lichties with Michael McKenna coming close twice in the first half.
The second half definitely wasn’t a classic and Stranraer equalised in the 66th minute. Darren Jamieson made a brilliant save from a flashing Grant Anderson header, but Kyle Turner was quickest to the rebound and fired low into the net.
Substitutes Ryan Wallace and Ryan McCord made a positive difference but Stranraer had a late chance to snatch the win but were again denied by Jamieson.
A tough game away on Saturday as we travel to Raith Rovers but our destiny is still very much in our own hands.
