The Lichties had to settle for a point against Stirling Albion at a blustery Gayfield this afternoon. The first half was full of chances for both sides, but nobody could find the back of the net with Stirling keeper Chris Smith making a series of fine saves to deny the Lichties but both teams went into the break at 0-0.
The Bino’s took the lead in the 57th minute when a cross-come-shot by Darren Smith bounced off the post and into the Arbroath net but Steven Doris pulled Arbroath level in the 64th minute after latching onto an Omar Kader through ball. In the closing minutes both teams had chances to win it with Bryan Hodge making a clearance off the line before Omar Kader seemed to be taken out by a challenge by Connor Quigley.
With Forfar Athletic suffering defeat at Berwick Rangers thanks to a late winner by former Lichtie Gary Phillips the Loons have an 8 point lead over the Lichties with 10 games to play.
