Arbroath 1 – 0 Celtic XI
A Greig Spence goal gave Arbroath their 3rd pre-season win at Gayfield as they claimed victory over a Celtic XI.
It was 2 goals in 5 days for Spence who put in a real shift up front harassing the Celtic defence at every chance.
The Lichties were given a stern work out by the young Celtic team who were very technical and passed the ball around well.
The only down side to the afternoon was the first half substitution of Luke Donnelly who went down after taking a heavy knock to the knee.
The goal build up – Greig Spence found Omar Kader on the right wing before Omar cut inside and fired a shot at goal which seemed to strike the hands of Stephen Welsh but Referee Liam Duncan played on.
The ball returned to the right wing where Spence was unlucky to hit the post before the ball was cleared for a corner kick.
From the corner kick the ball is played in and trialist Robert Wilson is first to the ball before the ball makes it way through to Greig Spence who makes no mistake from 5 yards.
